Cox’s Bazar, 9 March 2023: Cox’s Bazar is hosting the country’s first-ever International Beach Rapid Chess Tournament 2023 tomorrow (Friday), 10 March 2023 on Laboni Beach, Cox’s Bazar.

The country Grandmasters- GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Enamul Hossain Razib – topped the table of about 100 contenders vying in the tournament. National top-rated chess players, promising Young Turks,d budding talents are, among others, taking part in the tournament to be held on the world’s longest sandy beach.

Assisted by Bangladesh Chess Federation, the tournament is also bringing a good number of chess players, coaches, and organizers from all over the country to Cox’s Bazar aimed at promoting chess in the beach city as well as in the country.

Mr. Muhammad Shaheen Imran, Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar district will inaugurate the tournament while Syed Shahab Uddin, General Secretary, of Bangladesh Chess Federation, will be present.
